Some parking spaces are limited in numbers of vehicles. The space is marked with ropes on poles. We would like to underline, that parking is not allowed outside these markings. If the parking space is full, you have to go to another parking space. On the other hand, if you are first on location, please park your vehicle in a way, that leaves room for others.

Some beats are members only due to special rules for the beat. These beats are marked in our maps, and in the list below.

Setting up tents is not allowed in our car parks and sleeping outside the car is of course not allowed. Exception is made for overnight stay in shelters.

If you fail to comply with the rules you are liable to sanctions, which you will find in the fishing rules (fiskeregler) elsewhere on this site.

Storåen West North

Beat number 51: Frøjk Stemmeværk

Park at HOF clubhouse. Cross the road and go to the gate on the southside of the road east of the factory Vald. Birn Ltd. Follow the path approx. 500m to the river. GPS N 56°21'57,24" E 008°35'08,14"

Beat number 5: Egebjerg

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). At milestone 13,5 km turn left towards no. 7: Egebjerg. After 400 m turn left at the transformer tower. Do not enter the courtyard, but park at the end of the barn, where our parking sign is standing. Space for 4-5 vehicles, place your car in order to leave room for others. Walk to the west along the barn and the gras and fence. (do not go across the courtyard) Follow the path between the bushes down to the left. Here You will find a selfclosing gate, which You use tu get into the field. Use the path to walk to the river the shortest way to the pump, in order to not disturb the cattle. Beat number 10: Augusta

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). At milestone 12,1 km turn left on track. After som turns and 710 m you reach an open space. Park here and walk acros the meadow to the river. GPS N 56°22'01,12" E 008°31'21,17"

Beat number 15: HOF's hængebro

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). Just before number 17 (at GPS 56°22'21.1"N 8°30'55.4"E) turn up left on track. Go southwest on track across the fields. After 990 m you reach the parking space by the suspension bridge and the resting area for the canoes. You may use the bridge to cross the river. On this site there are 2 shelters where overnight stays are permitted. From June 1 to October 31, canoeists can pitch a tent in a designated area. The parking lot is situated on GPS N 56°21'54,92" E 008°30'35,93"

Parcel nummer 20/21: Præstegårds Spids North. Parking are members only

NB! From may 15th until July 16th (inc.) traffic is not allowed between 7:00 PM and 8:00 AM in respect of the owners hunting interests. Notice the sign at Vembvej, which shows the traffic ban and that the road is members only.Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509) At milestone 9,950 km turn left on track trough the forrest. After 800 m turn left and follow the road 100 m down and trough to the forrest edge. Tourn left and follow the forrest edge. After 225 m You see the parking spot. GPS N 56°21'50,50" E 008°29'50,90". Walk downhill the rest of the way on track until the hedges. Then turn left until you reach the table and bench. In order to get to the bets 20 og 21 You are allowed to pass the beat 19 along the river. Note the signs (in Danish). Of course, fishing is not permitted on parcel 19.

Beat number 23/24: Tvistholm

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). At som place the name af the road changes to Burvej. At number 58 turn left on track. After 390 m turn left along the north side of the farm. Turn right after another 590 m by the row of trees. (Please note: You might have to pass some wire fences. Please close again after passing) At the end of the row of trees after 790 m you can park. Walk downhill and across the fields to the river. GPS N 56°21'49,03" E 008°27'56,04"

Beat number 27/70: Bur bro

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). In Bur village turn left towards Idom. Pass the bridge and park on the east side of the road. GPS N 56°21'36,70" E 008°25'39,36"

If the restarea for canoes is full you may park at the pump just round the next road turn on beat number 70. GPS N 56°21'27,79" E 008°25'40,40"

Beat number 30: Hårnålesvinget. MEMBERS ONLY

There is no access to the beat from the east. All access must be from the west. The owner wants to minimize the fishing pressure on the beat. Therefore, a maximum of 3 members can fish simultaneously on the beat. You will have to wear a visible wooden sign, which you will find in a cabinet when you enter the beat from the west. You must return the sign to the cabinet immediately after you stop fishing on the beat. If you fail to comply with these rules, you will be liable to sanctions.

Beat number 32: Madsbjerg

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). After Bur village the name of the road is Burvej. At milestone 4,5 km turn left towards number 30. After 120 m follow the road to the right and immediately to the left. Don't enter any of the 2 courtyards. Continue on the track with the row of trees on your right. After 600 m the trees stop and you turn right with the forrest on your right. After 150 m you can park where the forrest stops. Walk to the left along the forrest across the fields. There are som deep ditches, but the owner has placed som crossing points. Beat number 35: Sig grøft

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). After Bur village the name of the road is Burvej. At milestone 2,4 km turn left. Follow the track 220 m. At the split you turn downhill to the left. Big trees on your left and the moor to the right. After 400 m do not go right on track, but continue straight ahead, where you may park. Space for 2 or 3 vehicles. Walk the track to the river. DO NOT DRIVE, the track is not suitable for cars. GPS N 56°21'07,96" E 008°22'59,22"

Beat number 38: Æ Gammel Mand

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). After Bur village the name of the road is Burvej. Turn left on track with the sign: Østergaard towards number 18. Follow the track trough the forrest where it turns left. Just before the courtyard turn right on track until You reach the parking sign. GPS N 56°20,57,33" E 008°22'25,35"

Beat number 37: Burvej 6

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). After Bur village the name of the road is Burvej. Turn left on track towards number 6. Just before the courtyard turn right towards the spruces. GPS N 56°20'47,32" E 008°21'58,80"

Beat number 40: Under højspændingen

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). After Bur village the name of the road is Burvej. At milestone 1,15 km turn left on track and pass both the small an the bigger power lines. Just after passing the ditch park on the right side og track. GPS N 56°20'42,30" E 008°21'39,31"

Beat number 42: Vemb Kirke

Across the road from the church on the south side of road no. 509 you can enter the field right next to the stone wall af the cemetery. Park here. Please leave room for other vehicles. GPS N 56°20'36,70" E 008°21'14,48"

You may also park on the public parkinglot at the church. Please respect the visitors to the church.

Storå West South

Beat number 52/53: Ved Nibsbjerg MEMBERS ONLY

In the crossing Niels Kjeldsens Vej/Vesterbrogade take Idomvej. After approx. 310 m turn right and follow Idomvej to the left. Straight ahead 660 m. Passing Nibsbjergvej it turns into a track towards number 72. When the forrest stops, drive another 100 m and turn left at the fertilizer shed to the parking area. Do not park i front of the fertilizer shed. (Please note: the farmer does not allow traffic or pedestrians to the farm). You may walk to the river passing west of the fertilizer shed and the slurry tank and then zig-zag along the row of trees along the field. GPS N 56°21'31,60" E 008°34'44,21" NB! From may 15th until July 16th (inc.) fishing is not allowed between 7:00 PM and 8:00 AM in respect of the owners hunting interests.

Fishing is not allowed on the first Saturday of October.

You will find a poster in each end of the beat and in the parking area. Please note, that these rules apply to both beat 52 and beat 53.

Parcel 54 vest/syd. Nørgaard.

Drive along Ringkøbingvej (Vej 16) After the forest at 39.4 km turn right onto Idumlundvej. After 2.0 km turn right at Strovstrupvej. After 25 m to the right towards number 12 on the 2nd gravel road so you have the fence to the right. Parking is arranged on the north side of the house so that it faces down to the creek. Parking space is shared with other visitors to the forest. GPS N 56°21'43.3" E 8°32'42.9" NB! The landowner himself manages the fishing for 2 days during the season. These days, the beat is closed to other fishermen. In 2025, the beat is closed on Wednesday the 16th of April.

Beat number 55: Nørgaard Stemmeværk

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). After the forrest at milestone 39,4 km turn right on Idumlundvej. After 2,0 km turn right on Strovstrupvej towards no. 2-6. Follow the road 1,43 km. Just before you reach the 3 farms turn right. Do not enter the courtyard af no. 2, but turn right after 80 m. proceed 300 m along the track and turn left after the row of trees. This is a place for storing winter feeds, so beware of big holes and big stacks of soil. Place your vehicle out of harms way. Walk across the cattle guard and downhill by the track between the trees to the river. GPS N 56°21'49,21" E 008°32'04,94"

Beat number 57: Strovstrup Stemmeværk

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). After the forrest at milestone 39,4 km turn right on Idumlundvej. After 2,0 km turn right on Strovstrupvej towards no. 2-6. Follow the road 1,43 km. When you reach the 3 farms go straight through the big space and pass the southside of the farms. After the park keep right where the road splits. You can park in the fenced place after the bushes. Walk towards the northwest along the track til you reach the rivers. Do not pass cultivated fields. GPS N 56°21'48.58" E 8°31'18.49"

Beat number 58: Gryde Å Stemmeværk

Drive along Ringkøbingvej (Road 16) After the forest at 39.4 km stone turn right onto Idumlundvej. After 3.4 km turn right and immediately left again down towards No. 18. Follow the dirt road and keep right past the farm. Drive 1.4 km. Parking is available in the fenced area. If there is no space, you must drive somewhere else. Walk the last bit down to the stream. It is not allowed to fish in the smaller Gryde Å. GPS N 56°21'31.39" E 8°30'18.59"

Beat number 59: Præstegårdssvinget syd MEMBERS ONLY

For parking se above. Traffic on beat 59 only along the river, never across the meadow. The owner wants to minimize the fishing pressure on the beat. Therefore a maximum of 4 members can fish simultaneously on the beat. You will have to wear a visible wooden sign, which you will find in a cabinet when you enter the beat crossing Gryde Å. You must return the sign to the cabinet immediately after you stop fishing the beat. Owner has 2 signs himself, but can dispose of all signs. If you fail to comply with these rules you will be liable to sanctions.

Beat number 63: Idom Bæk

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). At milestone 32,6 km turn right on Sønderbækvej towards Bur. After 2,6 km at Burlundvej 7 turn right on track opposite the barn. Follow the track 860 m. When you are dowbhill follov the track to the right along the row of trees. After 500 m go rigth ahead to the parking space. GPS N56°21'34.54" E 8°27'44.59"

Beat number 65: Pumpen nedstrøms Idom Bæk

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). At milestone 32,6 km turn right on Sønderbækvej towards Bur. After 2,6 km at Burlundvej 7 turn right on track opposite the barn. Follow the track 860 m. When you are downhill follow the track to the right along the row of trees. After 500 m turn left and drive approx. 300 m (not allowed to park here) and turn right and go approx. 100 m where you park right next to the river. Please note: the track is periodically very wet, so avoid getting bogged down. GPS N 56°21'40,47" E 008°27'36,13"

Beat number 70/27: Bur bro

Follow Vembvej (Road no. 509). In Bur village turn left towards Idom. Pass the bridge and park on the east side of the road. GPS N 56°21'36,70" E 008°25'39,36"

If the rest area for canoes is full you can park at the pump just round the next road turn on beat number 70. GPS N 56°21'27,79" E 008°25'40,40"

Best number 72: Hårnålesvinget

Drive along Ringkøbingvej (road 16) At 32.6 km stone turn right towards Bur along Sønderbækvej. After 4.67 km turn left onto Stenumvej. Drive 325m and before the fence to the mink farm turn onto a field road. Drive past the 2 slurry tanks and a total of 510m along the country road, where you will come to a round turning area. Here you can park and walk the rest of the way down to the stream. GPS N 56°21'09.39" E 008°25'22.40" NB! On the westernmost 100 m of this beat, it applies that in the period 15 May to 15 July (incl.) Fishing is prohibited between kl. 19:00 and at 09:00 for the sake of landowner hunting. Signs are set up by the river. This part of the beat is reserved for members.

Beat number 77:  At Gl. Stenum

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). At milestone 29,8 km turn right on Råsted Kirkevej. After 1,9 km turn right on Stenumvej. After 2;0 km turn left on Knudsigvej. After 1,9 km you have passed the new farmhouse on Knudsigvej 9. Immediately after turn right on the driveway to the house for farming machinery. Parking only in one of two the fenced areas, one on each side af the hedgerow. From the eastern car park, a path leads down along the engine house, which you must use. When you get down to the meadow, you will find a folding gate to get into the meadow and down to the creek. GPS N 56°20'51,29" E 008°24'24,70"  NB! On the easternmost 100 m of this beat, it applies that in the period 15 May to 15 July (incl.) Fishing is prohibited between kl. 19:00 and at 09:00 for the sake of landowner hunting. Signs are set up by the river. This part of the beat is reserved for members.

Beat number 77: Ø. Knudsig

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). At milestone 29,8 km turn right on Råsted Kirkevej. After 1,9 km turn right on Stenumvej. After 2;0 km turn left on Knudsigvej. After 2 km You will find the parking space at the side of the road to the right. Room for 4 cars. Walk north to the river alongside the fence 120 m to the east. GPS 56°20'53.4"N 8°23'53.0"Ø

Beat number 78: V. Knudsig

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). At milestone 29,8 km turn right on Råsted Kirkevej. After 1,9 km turn right on Stenumvej. After 2;0 km turn left on Knudsigvej. After 2,2 km turn right into the second driveway of Knudsigvej 3 at the gray cowshed. Parking only in the fenced area. Do not enter the courtyard in the 1st driveway.GPS N 56°20'52.82" E 8°23'27.66"

Beat number 79: Stenumgaard East

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). At milestone 29,8 km turn right on Råsted Kirkevej. After 4,2 km turn right on Knudsigvej. After 500m turn left on track opposite the big brick cow shed of Stenumgaard. Drive 200 m till you reach the bee hives after a smalle forrest. Park here and walk to the river. GPS N 56°20' 37,76" E 008°22'33,26"

Beat number 80: Stenumgaard West

Follow Ringkøbingvej (Road no. 16). At milestone 29,8 km turn right on Råsted Kirkevej. After 4,2 km turn right on Knudsigvej. After 220 m turn left on track. Continue for 410 m and follow the track to the right until you reach the fence before the hill. Her is room for max. 3 cars. Remember to get the rear end free of the track, leaving room for passing of the owners heavy machinery. Then you must walk the rest of the way to the river along the north side of the hedgerows until you come to the new dike. GPS N 56°20' 31,1" E 008°22'13,2"

Storå through the city of Holstebro

When you are fishing the municipal beats trough the city of Holstebro, there are lots of public parking areas. Please show some consideration for the other road users.

Vandkraftsøen

There are good parking facilities in both ends of Vandkraftsøen. To the west there is a public parking lot in connection with the bridge on the city ring. GPS N 56°21'08,64" E 008°38'20,61"
To the east there are a parking lot in connection to a large leisure time area south-east of Storebro on Tvis Møllevej GPS N 56°21'07,97" E 008°40'56,03" Between these two places You may park a lot of places, but please show some consideration for the residents and other road users.

Storå East North

Publig parking area: Kommunestykket

Follow Hodsagervej (road no. 185) towards Ikast. At milestone 39,4 km turn left towards the farm "Gl. Hesel". After 100 m you will find a public parking area. You can walk to the river on path on both sides of Savstrup Å. It is not allowed to fish in Savstrup Å. GPS N 56°21'20,83" E 008°43'03,50"

Beat number 18-19

Follow Hodsagervej (road no. 185) towards Ikast. At milestone 37,7 km there is a lay-by on the north east side of the road. GPS N 56°20'58,17" E 008°44'29,62"
At milestone 37,3 km there is a lay-by with tables and benches on the south west side of the road. GPS N 56°20'52,43" E 008°44'46,48"

Beat number 20

Follow Hodsagervej (road no. 185) towards Ikast. At milestone 36,850 km turn right on track towards number 18-20. after 100 m You can park at no. 18. GPS N 56°20'41,85" E 008°45'06,77"

Beat number 21

Follow Hodsagervej (road no. 185) towards Ikast. At milestone 36,850 km turn right on track towards number 18-20. After 100 m turn left along the barn of no. 18. After 1.5 km passing no. 20 you can park at a t-crossing. Walk on the track between the trees to the river. GPS N 56°20'14,46" E 008°46'03,89"

Storå East South

Public parking area: Kommunestykket

On Tvis Møllevej where Tvis Å runs into the lake you may park at the rest area for canoes. Walk to the east along the lake/river on public paths. GPS N 56°21'07,97" E 008°40'56,03"

Beat number 69

Be careful when you park along the road side on Grydholtvej. In both ends of the beat you can walk to the river along a row of trees. Do not cross fields with crops.

Beat number 73 Ø. Breinholt

On Lindholtvej 3 you can park on the westside of the barn. GPS N 56°19'49,39" E 008°46'32,50"

Beat number 74 Lindholt

On Lindholtvej 2 follow the road passing the farm on the southside. At th T-crossing turn left, where there is a sign with No. 2. Then turn right on track between the mink farm and the power station, and drive along the walls of the mink farm. After 500 m you will find a parking sign. GPS N 56°19'30,57" E 008°47'20,18"

Råsted Lilleå

Skærum Mølle

Use the driveway between the white building and the river, Andelsvej no. 4. Pass "The Old Coop" and the green barn. You will find a red pole with af parking sign from The Danish Nature Agency. GPS 56°20'16.66"N 8°21'07.82"Ø

Fuglsang Bro

In the crossing at Vind Kirke (church) go south/south-west on Fuglsangvej. Keep right in the road split. When you have passed Vind Moor keep left in the next road split. Pass the river on Fuglsang bridge and keep left towards the public parking area. GPS N 56°15'8.62" E 8°30'40.17"
